To

history of surveying – from its beginning to the modern
methods

maps and drawings.
The surveying trail follows the hiking trail from the station in
Weinfelden to the Nollen. The trail leads through the impressive
landscape of the Mittelthurgau where nature and the surveying history
meet. You enjoy many surprising views into the Thur valley, the lovely
creek of the Furt brook, Lake Constance and the Alps from the popular

Biking Tours
The Weinfelden region
includes
the center of the canton with the Thur valley and the neighboring
ridges of the Ottenberg including the plateau south of the Thur.
As early as the 9th century, river channels were built in the plain in
order to make the water power of the river available to the emerging
industry. As a result, many trade and industrial enterprises emerged in
the upcoming region and give the Thur region its character.
Along the Ottenberg, numerous vineyards characterize the landscape.
Along the watercourse, charming biking routes were designed that are
connected to the surrounding regions and build a tightly woven and
attractive route network.

Inline Skate
LAS
InlineDrom - A Mecca for Inline skaters
A new jewel has been added
to the inline skating paradise Thurgau – the LAS InlineDrom, the world’s
first roofed and standardized inline
rink. In addition to the signalized routes "one-eleven" and "Slow-up", inline skaters now enjoy skating in every
weather. The LAS Inline-Drom
in the Güttingersreuti neighborhood in Weinfelden was opened in June 2006.
The new inline skating rink is available to professionals and pleasure skaters for competitions, training or simply for fun.
On Wednesdays, the
national team has its
training session with subsequent
races. For the approximately
1,000 active Swiss professional
skaters, the LAS InlineDrom is a
dream come true. It enables trainings
and competitions all year
around.
Christoph Luginbühl, an internationally successful skater from
the Thurgau, is very
enthusiastic: «The Drom is unique in Switzerland after similar projects failed elsewhere.»
The LAS InlineDrom is multifunctionally designed and stages events such as concerts
or sports events. This
multifunctional dimension has already been proven at the opening celebration on June 11, 2006.
For the multi-purpose use, the InlineDrom is equipped with the most modern technologies, such as time measuring
systems for tournaments
and lightning systems for large events.
